How Much Do You Know About Environmentally Friendly And Naturally Degradable Materials?

Leave a message

At present, the difficult problem of disposal of plastic is that it is difficult to produce harmful substances when burning. In particular, film plastics are mostly disposable and difficult to recycle.

In order to solve this problem, we have developed environmental protection and natural degradation materials, which not only have the properties of traditional plastics, but also can be degraded?

But there may be a few facts about degradable plastics that you need to know.

Biodegradable plastics are not necessarily bio based plastics

Biodegradable plastics may use bio based raw materials, but may also contain petrochemical raw materials (or a mixture of the two) containing additives that enhance biodegradation.

Bio based raw materials are usually natural polymers (such as starch, cellulose, chitin) or agricultural and sideline products, which are produced by microbial fermentation or synthesis of biodegradable polymers, such as thermoplastic starch plastics, polyhydroxy fatty acid esters (PHA), polylactic acid (PLA), starch / polyvinyl alcohol, etc.

Many raw materials for the production of polylactic acid (PLA) are derived from corn starch

Traditional petroleum based plastics can be made into biodegradable plastics (such as oxidative degradation plastics) to some extent. Starch is usually added to petroleum based plastics to make them easy to decompose, but only into smaller volume petroleum based plastics.
